Data Processing Officer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you interested in handling various tasks simultaneously? With us, the officers work both to administer microdata releases and to produce databases on assignment. We are a team of 21 dedicated colleagues working to produce microdata assignments for research and statistical purposes.

As an officer, you work independently with the entire process from incoming requests to final delivery, but there is a good collaborative climate where everyone helps each other. We conduct a significant part of the work in close collaboration with our clients, such as universities, colleges, research institutions, and authorities.

• handle the entire process, from processing incoming requests to final delivery
• have many client contacts, collaborate with other subject sections within SCB, and have contacts with other authorities

QUALIFICATIONS

We require that you have:

• a university degree, at least at the bachelor's level, with a social science focus, or in the public health field
• at least 15 credits in the subject of statistics
• good ability to express yourself in spoken and written Swedish.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• experience working with SQL, SAS, and/or SPSS or other data processing software
• experience in statistical production and experience handling large datasets
• experience in customer service/client contact
• experience in qualified case management, where you have independently investigated, analyzed, and made decisions in complex cases
• experience in planning, collecting, and compiling research data according to scientific methods
• good ability to express yourself in spoken and written English.

For this to be a good match for both you and us, you need to be structured and able to work independently in a quality-conscious manner, as the work often involves having several of your own assignments ongoing simultaneously, with the responsibility to drive them forward. It is therefore good if you are also proactive. You need to have good administrative skills combined with an interest in working in data processing programs. It is important that you are comfortable working towards deadlines.

You also have good collaboration skills, as it is essential for the work to create good relationships, both internally and externally.

OTHER

This position is located in the microdata assignment section in Örebro. Based on the operational conditions, there is also the possibility to work some time from home.

The employment is permanent and usually starts with a six-month probationary period. The start date will be agreed upon.

This position is classified for security, so we will conduct a security review with a background check before making a decision on employment.
